What is the National Federation of Roofing Contractors Competent Person Scheme?
NFRC competent person scheme is a government licensed scheme that allows professional roofing contractors the unique ability to self-certify that their roof refurbishment work complies with building regulations in England and Wales.
This self certification scheme allows entry to a building regulation compliance certificate (BRCC) on the local authority building control database.
This is an important document if you plan on selling your property for a number of reasons. Some mortgage providers will insist on a regularisation certificate before allowing the deal to be completed to make sure substandard work has been carried out. If substandard work has been carried out then this work will need to be corrected before completion or the house sold at a big discount.
To be a part of this scheme contractors are audited rigorously against a robust set of criteria including, a financial check, office audit, and site inspection prior to being registered as an NFRC CPS contractor.
